At Tudorville Allotments we grow more than vegetables – we grow new friendships and community spirit. During the summer and winter months we get together over a drink or two to swap tips, ask questions and get to know our neighbours. Some members come alone, others bring partners, kids and dogs. It’s always a sociable time where all are welcome. Our reasons for having an allotment are as diverse as the seeds we sow – the satisfaction of growing produce from seed, becoming an expert in a certain crop, making new friends who you would not meet otherwise, learning something new, taking care of your physical and mental health. Tending an allotment is so much more than weeding and watering, it’s about laying down roots in your local area.
Thanks to Bryony, plot 17B for organising.
